Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in The West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" location. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of communities. Many who've never heard of it often confuse it with a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay there was short. Brugel grew in Courtice close to Oshawa. Early ambitions were to become an expert dancer. However, a growth increase caused her to surpass her dance partners she was able to have. The Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. Once I outgrew male partners at that point, I gave up. Former dancers often turn to acting, and in the case of Brugel it was an urging by her drama teacher. The teacher suggested she try getting a part in the the school's annual show. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the annual school production. The show was granted the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated at the age of 20 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. In the 20+ years since, Brugel has landed roles on over 60 shows on the big and small screens, attracting the greatest interest when she was offered the character of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actress in Season 1 which was viewed only occasionally.
